When a new website helps
A website earns its place when it makes the next step obvious: what the business does, who it is for, and how to get in touch, clearly on a phone.
If the current site is hard to read, slow, or does not lead anywhere, that is usually where the work starts. If it is mostly fine, the honest answer is to leave it and spend the effort elsewhere.
What web design and development can cover
Scope is agreed for the specific project. Nothing below is assumed to be in every quote.
- Structure and content
- The pages, the order they are in, and copy that makes the offer and the next step clear.
- Design and build
- A custom layout built to read well on a phone first, then larger screens.
- Search-ready foundation
- Headings, page structure and metadata set up so the site can be found, with ongoing SEO scoped separately.
- Handover
- Editing access, hosting and ownership confirmed in writing, with a walkthrough of how to make changes.
What makes a page useful?
A visitor should be able to understand your service and find the next step without searching around. We check the details that make that possible.
What this work covers
- The single next step a visitor should take, and where it sits on the page.
- How the same page holds up on a narrow phone screen.
- Where the business name, location and contact details appear.
Handover and support
The site is handed over with the access it needs and a short walkthrough. What ongoing support looks like, if any, is agreed rather than assumed.
Hosting and domain arrangements are confirmed as part of that handover.
Web design questions
Can we start from our current site?
Often, yes. The audit shows whether the current site is a good starting point or whether a rebuild is the clearer path. A rebuild is not assumed.
Will we be able to edit the site ourselves?
That depends on the setup we agree on. Editing access, hosting and who owns what are confirmed in writing before the build starts, not left vague.
Is search work included in a website project?
The build follows sound structure for search, but ongoing local SEO is a separate scope. The two are discussed together when they are both relevant.
